I was reading the Saturday Travel Guardian and came across 4 pages of holidays all based on helping people who have problems sleeping – but having a holiday in order to deal with sleep problems can be very expensive, costing hundreds or even thousands of pounds.  Hypnotherapy can be a cheaper and much more beneficial solution.

It is not unusual to have sleep troubles from time to time but if you feel that you regularly don't get enough sleep or satisfying sleep and feel you have one or more of the following hypnotherapy can help:

    • Difficulty falling asleep or unrefreshing sleep
    • Waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep
    • Waking up too early in the morning

    Problems caused by insomnia

Insomnia can cause problems during the day too, such as sleepiness, difficulty concentrating at work, and increased irritability at home or at work.   If you have insomnia you may also find you have another sleep disorder such as sleep apnoea, narcolepsy or restless legs syndrome, in which case you may need to consult your doctor.

    Acute or short-term insomnia

Acute, or short-term sleep problems, however,  can often be caused by emotional or physical discomfort or stress at work or may be related to a single specific event, such as:

    - switching from day to night shift

    - worries or stress at work or at home

    - environmental factors like noise, light or extreme temperatures

    - a single event like job loss or change, the end of a relationship or death of a loved one.

So how does hypnosis and hypnotherapy help with insomnia? I have been able to help many people overcome insomnia to go on to sleep deeply and wake feeling more refreshed.  Briefly my hypnotherapy helps by:

    - shifting patterns of behaviour which were causing disturbed sleep

    - reducing stress

    - increases levels of calm and the ability to unwind

Rather than spending much of your hard earned money on a holiday specifically to deal with insomnia, maybe consider having a few sessions of hypnotherapy which can give you life long relief of insomnia, it could be the best investment you have made !
